MY EVERYDAY MAKEUP #1

My cat will choose somewhere in the house (currently the radiator in the hallway) and exclusively sleep there for a few weeks until she gets bored and then finds a new favourite spot. That’s kind of how I do my makeup. I’ll have a set routine that I’ll do everyday for a good few weeks until I feel like switching it up and trying something else. So I thought I’d start sharing my current makeup routine with you.

I always start with a primer. Currently I’m using the Soap and Glory One Heck of a Blot and to be honest I’m not sure if it actually does anything for the wear-time of my makeup but it gives me a nice base for foundation. Speaking of foundation, The Ordinary Coverage Foundation is my absolute favourite at the moment. I did a proper review in this post but basically it’s got medium coverage and a natural, satin finish that feels light on the skin. Then I go in with the NYX HD Concealer under my eyes and on spots. Once my base has dried down a bit, I dust on Glossier Wowder to set everything. Still not sure how I feel about this one but I’ll keep you updated.

I haven’t been full-on contouring recently. Instead I’ve just been using my Benefit Hoola Bronzer to lightly shade my cheekbones, jaw and forehead and then just basically dusting it all over my face to warm up my very dull-looking skin. You’ll know if you’ve read this post that the only highlighters I’ve been using are from the Tarte Tarteist Pro Glow to Go Palette – my favourite is Gleam which is a beautiful, sheeny, icy pink shade.

You should know by now that I always use the Soap and Glory Archery Pencil to fill in my brows and the Archery Gel to keep them in place. God knows how many of these pencils I’ve gone through and I don’t see myself switching it up anytime soon. Sometimes I’ll take my concealer on a small, flat brush to clean up the underneath of my brows, depending on how carefully I’ve filled them in. I’ve been all about lazy eye makeup recently, using the Kat Von D Eyeshadow/Blush in Lolita all over the lid and blending it out for a grungey, rosy-brown look. Then I finish with the Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara
