Foundation is one of those beauty products that I find really exciting to buy...which probably suggests I need to get out more but that's an entirely different blog post. Today I'm talking about the three foundations I have whittled my collection down to which work for every occasion.

My go-to, holy grail, *insert every other blogger cliche* foundation is NARS Sheer Glow. I honestly can't fault this stuff. It's a medium coverage foundation that can be sheered out or built up and has a natural, satin finish that's neither too dewy nor too matte which makes it pretty much perfect for most days.

Unfortunately, my lack of 'good skin days' means I don't get to whip out the Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum very often but I love it when I can. The formula is a light gel that feels weightless and moisturising. It looks very natural but offers just enough coverage to even everything out. Great for 'no-makeup makeup' or those lucky few with perfect skin (I hate you).

Even though 'going out-out' tends to involve hanging out in the dark surrounded by drunk people, we usually feel the need to wear higher coverage makeup than normal. And Kat Von D Lock It is my favourite. It's a full coverage, long-lasting foundation with a flawless matte finish that stays put all night long.

What's your favourite foundation?

I've been using the Bourjois Healthy Mix Gel Serum for years and adore it, but recently I bought the Urban Decay Naked Skin and it's pretty much my favourite everyday foundation - without the need for me to add a bit of foundation lightener! I've heard a lot of good things about KVD's concealer, but I seem to see a lot of people disliking the foundation so it's interesting to see a positive look at it! xx

I've been wanting to try Naked Skin but I know that UD foundations sometimes oxidise so I'm a bit hesitant to, maybe I'll give it a go if you think it's good for pale skin! I think some people can find the KVD one drying but I've got normal/dry skin and don't have a problem with it. It's probably worth trying a sample first?xxx
