BENEFIT DEFINED AND REFINED BROW KIT

I'm just going to pretend it hasn't been 6 months since my last post (apparently A-Levels are quite time-consuming) and pick up where I left off by talking about my favourite topic: EYEBROWS.

Recently Benefit had a huge, brow-based re-vamp; re-packaging old products and bringing out a load of new ones. As an eyebrow fanatic, I wanted to try EVERYTHING so I not-so-subtlety emailed my mum pictures of the Benefit Defined and Refined Brow Kit and it was plopped in my lap on Christmas Day.

For £31.50, you get three full-size brow products plus a shaping tool and a funky yellow tin. For the last few weeks I have been using Precisely, My Brow Pencil religously and I'm a big fan. It's got a skinny, twist-up brow pencil on one end with a spoolie on the other - almost identical to my favourite makeup product of all time: the Soap and Glory Archery Pencil. The colour is spot on for me, not too warm or red-toned like a lot of brow products. The consistency and shape of the pencil is perfect for natural, hair-like strokes and it lasts all day. However, it is £12 more expensive than the Soap and Glory option and the only real difference I've noticed is slightly snazzier packaging, so as much as I love this pencil I'm not sure I'll replace it when it runs out.

The High Brow Highlighting Pencil has also been an everyday staple for me recently. This is a chunky, pale pink, creamy pencil that you swipe underneath each brow to highlight. Benefit also offer a shimmery option but I really like that this one is matte. The highlight isn't too in-your-face - it just lifts and cleans up the brows.

Finally, the Browvo Conditioning Eyebrow Primer. I tried this as a primer a couple of times but I didn't really get on with it. Supposedly it makes whatever you whack on top apply better and last longer but it just made my brows half-wet, half-crispy and didn't do anything for the wear-time. Instead, I've been using this for its other purpose as a conditioning serum. My natural eyebrows are a little lacking in the growth department so I've been slathering this on each night in the hopes that I'll wake up with naturally full, thick brows. I'll keep you updated on my progress.

So all-in-all I'm impressed with this little tin. And £31.50 for three full size products is a pretty good deal considering each retails for 20 odd quid. There are three different tins available, each with a different selection of products so you can pick whichever takes your fancy and get a feel for the new range. Despite only having two eyebrows, I am definitely going to be trying more.

Thanks for reading, Lucy x
