URBAN DECAY X GWEN STEFANI EYESHADOW PALETTE

I know I'm very late on the bandwagon with this one so I'm sure you've already seen plenty of flatlays of this palette but I couldn't not do a post on it. I mean look at it, it's a beaut.  I've had the Urban Decay x Gwen Stefani Eyeshadow Palette for a couple of weeks now and I have never been more in love with an item of makeup.

First of all, the packaging is gorgeous. I love the black and white because I'm monochrome af and the gold makes it a bit more fun and interesting but still keeps it classy. It's a 15-pan palette so I was expecting it to be the same size as my MAC palette but I was pleasantly surprised to find that's it's actually a bit smaller which means it'll be much easier to cart around. Inside is the 15 eyeshadows (duh) and a gigantic mirror which makes me seriously happy because it's big enough to see your entire face which, again, makes it a good'un for travelling. Also, I find the way it closes really satisfying, is that weird? Yeah, probably.

The eyeshadows themselves are just what you'd expect from Urban Decay: soft, smooth, easy to blend and pigmented as heck. As you can see, there's a mix of matte and shimmery colours which are mainly neutral with a couple of brights thrown in for good measure. I'm usually all about the neutral eyeshadows but I love that there's some more out-there colours in case I'm feeling a little wild. For everyday looks, Bathwater, Steady, and Baby have been my favourites for all over the lid, Anaheim and Zone are perfect crease colours and I like Blonde and Skimp for inner-corner/browbone highlight. For something a bit heavier, Punk looks badass with Serious and Blackout for a grungy, smokey kinda vibe. Danger looks scary as hell but it's a lot less bright and much more dark grey/silvery when it's blended out so it's definitely still wearable, even if you tend to steer clear from colour. The only thing I think this palette could do with is a matte dark brown for the crease but apart from that, it's pretty perfect.

So, you've probably gathered that I'm a fan of this palette. It's 100% worth the money and I would highly recommend snapping it up before it disappears because it's limited edition (cue horrified gasps).

Thanks for reading, Lucy x
P.S. Is that finger-print in the blue bothering you because it's driving me nuts?

  6. This palette certainly looks gorgeous, and I do love Urban Decay's eyeshadows. Some of those brights could be really interesting to work with, I agree with you that it could benefit from the addition of a matte brown though

  7. I'm really not sure whether to buy this palette! I love the look of it but I'm not sure I need another UD neutral palette! I think I'm going to have to swatch it as your review is very very tempting.
